GPS High Dynamics Solutions

The QinetiQ Q20 HD GPS receiver is a high performance, ultra-compact GPS unit providing the state of the art in high dynamics tracking capability.

GPS Dynamics The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a contract to QinetiQ to provide super-fast satellite acquisition GPS to the Joint Advanced Missile Instrumentation (JAMI) program.

This contract requires that QinetiQ take existing software developed by the US DOD and incorporate it into an improved production product designed by QinetiQ.

This product known as the GSU (GPS Sensor Unit) will provide leading edge GPS technology, and improve US range safety and weapon evaluation, while saving the US DoD millions of dollars in operating costs.

JAMI program director Mr Bill Chicky said that he is delighted to work with QinetiQ on the implementation of the GPS Sensor Unit (GSU): "Our business is making sure that tests produce the data to evaluate sophisticated technology and part of that business is also making sure tests involving explosives and fast-moving projectiles don't endanger valuable equipment or anyone's safety. Combined with QinetiQ's technology based expertise and ability to pick-up where our previous contractor left off will save us many months in schedule slippage, and provide our customers with a cost effective product ensuring safety and the effectiveness of the missiles that we test."

hd The QinetiQ Q20 HD is designed to support the latest military test and evaluation and range safety applications. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense's Joint Advanced Missile Integration (JAMI) program. The Q20 HD also offers an ultra-compact C/A code GPS solution for munitions applications where it can bring the potential for guidance and tracking in low cost / high volume applications. The Q20 HD has been successfully fired onboard shells and mortars surviving over 20,000g launch shock.
