Noise Assessment

QinetiQ is able to offer a comprehensive acoustic research and assessment service, based on over thirty years of leading edge experience.

A suite of purpose-built acoustic chambers are available for conducting tests to the relevant standards, together with an extensive range of recording and analysis equipment for use both on and off site. QinetiQ has considerable experience in conducting scoping surveys to assess the noise and vibration levels in airborne and ground environments.

The results can be used to provide recommendations to improve the noise environment, in line with the Noise at Work Regulations: 1989 and more stringent future legislation.

The Noise at Work Regulations: 1989 governing employee noise exposure are changing. The European Physical Agents directives on noise will tighten the legal limits for employee noise exposure and introduce an Exposure Limit Value. From April 6th the directives are part of UK law as the Control of Noise at Work Regulations. The legislation can be viewed on the Health and Safety Executive website.
