Statistical Energy Analysis SEA is a powerful tool which models the transmission of sound and vibration through complex structures such as an aircraft. We apply it to assess and improve passenger comfort and enjoyment to meet the demands of today's aerospace market. We can conduct trade-off studies to assess noise reduction methods such as soundproofing against the consequent penalty of extra weight. This helps to reduce design cycle times and development costs.
We are continuing to develop a validated computer model that can predict aircraft interior noise levels in response to external aerodynamic sources of sound. These sources include pressure fluctuations in the turbulent boundary layer and outflow from the engines.
