Trim panel speaker technology

The muffled sounds of on-board aircraft music and announcements can be some of the most irritating and distracting noises around. We have developed a novel remedy which uses existing aircraft fittings - the trim panels - to produce high quality sound reproduction for cabin announcements and other on-board audio requirements.

The benefits of trim panel speakers over conventional cone loudspeakers include a more even distribution of sound, broader operating frequency bandwidth and the potential for overall weight reduction in a typical installation. Voice intelligibility has also been shown to be improved. Trim panel speakers have been incorporated into Head of State B747s, VVIP and Royal BBJ737s, and is standard fit on Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft.
