Composite aircrew helmets
New aircrew helmets must incorporate additional sensors and communications equipment whilst remaining as lightweight as possible.

QinetiQ's stable, lightweight polymer composite sandwich helmet reduces neck strain and injury and provides shock resistance equal to current fast jet aircrew helmets.

The production process also has the potential for integrated sensor and communications circuitry to be embedded within composite skins, further enhancing functionality.
