Integrated Waste Management

Integrated Waste Management is the integration of various waste treatment methods to produce an environmentally and economically sustainable waste management system. We have identified, evaluated and developed a range of novel technologies to treat and manage waste streams arising onboard Royal Navy vessels. The main development areas include treatment of black (sewage) and grey water, solid waste, food waste and oily water.

Integrated waste Management EU Environmental legislation is becoming increasingly more stringent, requiring waste production and disposal to be tightly controlled. We have developed and tested waste management systems which ensure environmental compliance, within both the marine and land environments, and achieve significant volume reduction of the waste.
