This is necessary because network configurations constantly change by the addition of newly added servers, patching or service upgrades all adding to the pressure of having to protect the network and avoid security breaches.

QinetiQ provides a service that will perform the vulnerability scan and assessment automatically.

QinetiQ's 24 x 7 Managed Vulnerability Assessment and Alerting Service (MVAAS) is a flexible suite of automated internal and external vulnerability scans with the added benefit of analysis undertaken by our analysts who will then present the results.

MVAAS automatically manages the scanning of Internet facing and internal systems which can be enabled from QinetiQ's 24 x 7 manned and secure operations centre.

The scans we perform will check for vulnerabilities against specified IP addresses and at certain times as specified by the customer. Scan results are then forwarded securely for examination and action.
